Saquish 2005:  A Storm of Changes
A Three-day Nor'Easter on May 23-25, 2005 wreaked havoc -- sweeping away our neighbor, Jim McFarland's "Enuff is Enuff" cottage -- and set the stage for big changes for our cottage
Ben Gobel visited Saquish with us for the season opener, May 21-22, 2005, and we photographed McFarland's, above left.  The following Tuesday to Thursday, we had the big storm.  The remainder of the above and left shots were taken Memorial Day weekend.  We'd lost 25 feet of dunes and our bridge (not to mention our stairs.)  The cliff was only three feet from our deck.  We hired a guy with a front-end loader to replenish the dunes and we hired Frankie Costa to rebuild a walkway.  With the lower walkway, no bridge and no "Enuff is Enuff", our view is the best its ever been.  We also upgraded the water supply system and the gas works -- replumbing each of them.  We redid the kitchen.  Keye's Womens Weekenders redid the pantry.
See below for more re 2005 changes.

When I arrived on June 25, 2005 (with my new Hobie Mirage Outback SUV peddle kayak), it was a new place!  That's me, your host, at left on cool afternoon in kayak.
