Mary Seppala's in Starnberg, Bavaria, Germany -- October, 2005
Mary and Ed Neumuth "retired" on July 15, 2005 -- Mary as Superintendent of Lee Schools and Ed as Hiltowns Veterinary Clinic.  Mary took a job as Director of the Munich International School in Starnberg, Germany (12 miles south of Munich on StarnbergerSee, Lake Starnberg.)  Keye and I wasted no time in visiting.  We spent a glorious week from October 10 to 18, 2005 touring southern Germany and northern Austria from her home.
Above:  Neuschwanstein Castle, one of mad Ludwig II's castles.  Below:  We took Ed immediately upon his arrival in Germany to the happiest place in the world:  The Hofbrau Haus in Munich.  After Keye and I left Ed and Mary went on a trip to Italy.
Above and above left:  Keye and I enjoyed Germany's mother's milk at a cafe in Garmisch.  Left:  Mary's home in Starnberg.  Below:  Flowers and churches:  that's Germany.
Above: We took the tram, a vertical elevator, really, up 7,000 vertical feet to the top of the Zugspitz, the highest point in Germnay.  Above right, the view from the hike up to Neuschwanstein Castle back toward Austria.  Right:  Keye enjoyed the purple sitting room in Ludwig II's Lindenhof Castle.  Below:  A great dinner of wurst, hand-made noodles and lentils.  Far below:  lunch on our last day in Augsburg in LugwigPlatz.
