Skiing Colorado with Corey -- January, 2008
After Scott/Gobel family immersion in the midwest (see Uncle John's Memorial), and after a week of new snow in the Rockies, I traveled to Boulder where Corey and Carmen hosted me before Corey and I headed up for some skiing:  two days with Corey at Vail and Breckenridge and then two more days alone at Vail and Beaver Creek.
Yes, we skiied that bowl behind Corey -- the Peak 7 Bowl at Breckenridge. After riding the brand new Imperial Express SuperChair to the Peak 8 Summit, we traversed to the Peak 7 Summitt and took the steepest line down the Peak 7 Bowl.
Carmen and Corey enjoy domestic bliss, sharing the most important resources -- the remote and the internet -- in their Niwot (near Boulder) apartment.

It was an amazing trip:  Aside from all the human/family interactions and skiing (123,000 vertical feet in four days) there were numbers: seven changes of sleeping arrangements, four rental cars, six trips over Vail pass; four trips over Continental Divide; five days with a flight; two flights missed by five minutes; 20 luggage transitions (house to car, car to plane, etc. with two pairs skis and all ski gear to entirely second floor accommodations.)  Because of missed midnight flight in Philadelphia, I got to spend few hours with David.  On way from Fred's to Milwaukee, I visited my old college/seminary in Waukesha.
