Garmisch and the Austrian Alps
A family ski trip to the Alps.  A dream.  Teresa organized and planned and her US military credentials secured us fabulous accommodations in Garmisch.  The distraction to ski was diminished as the weather didn't cooperate -- it was in the 50's and raining in Garmisch, but snowing like crazy higher up.  We enjoyed all the distractions of Munich and Bavaria.  Noah was the star of the show.
Above:  Becca near the top of St. Anton in the Arlberg region of Austria where we skied two days -- after Keye and I scouted it for a day.  Below:  Our accommodations at our Edelweiss cabin.  We had two cabins.  L to R: Keye, Colin (who joined us from his job at Munich International School), me, Teresa, Mary and Joe.
We all met at the Hofbrau Haus the first day (above.)  The next day we skied the Kandahar downhill course at Garmisch where they'd run an FIS downhill the day before.  At the top of the course (left:  Ross, Colin, Joe) it was sheer ice.  We did have a great lunch (below with Becca.)
Left:  We partied with Mary Seppala (our hostess, the Director of Munich International School) in Partenkirchen (left) and we stopped in in the Augustiner beer hall in Munich (below.)
Becca and Ross order lunch (above, left) and pose (above) at St. Anton. Left and below:  We hiked from our cabin around the Garmisch valley.
Above:  We visited Colin's class at the Munich International School.  Left:  We spent a day in Munich.  Below:  the brand new Galzigbahn lift at St. Anton.
Above:  Ross points our way from the top in fresh powder at Zurs.  Right:  more lunch at St. Anton.  Below: That's me (orange jacket in the middle) skiing down into St. Christof.  Far below: The vista including the Arlberg Pass from St. Anton.
