Prairie Home Companion at Tanglewood
A perfect weekend of weather for Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra on Friday night and Garrison Keilor on Saturday night.  Colin and Kathryn bumped into us Friday and we hosted them for dinner (with Susan's luscious fresh strawberries) Saturday.
Return to Hollister Page
Top Left:  Garrison just starting the "second half of our show."  I handed in a note to Mary and Ray, but it didn't get selected.  But I learned the winning technique and will be successful next time.  Above left:  The stage at intermission with the "sponsor" signs:  Guy's Shoes, The Catchup Advisory Board, Powdermilk Bisquits and The American Duct Tape Council.  Above right:  the talent:  Leo Kopke (one of that night's guests who sang a terrific folk song, "Where have all the Democrats gone?"), Garrison, Sue Scott, Fred Newman (sound effects) and Tim Russell.  Scroll down for lots more.
Keye, holding Susan and Barry Hollister's strawberries.  Colin, just home from his first year at Bates, is joined by Kathryn just up from her summer job as lifeguard at the Tanglewood Beach.  Below:  We weren't able to get tickets in the shed, but we did pretty well.  Scroll down for more.
We left just as Garrison started his "This Week at Lake Woebegone" and got a great porch seat for dinner at Church Street Cafe.
